There are virtually no shops in Penshurst, in fact there are only three retail outlets : the Penshurst Place Gift Shop, which is open every day except over the Christmas period, the Spotted Dog Farm Shop and a small grocery outlet tucked away in The Forge Garage.

The nearest well stocked village general store is in Leigh Village and is open seven days a week.

Most residents drive to the nearby towns of Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge for the major supermarkets and chain stores and many individual boutiques. Sevenoaks, Edenbridge and Crowborough are also a short drive away and offer other supermarkets.

However, the area is well supplied with farm shops selling both imported and seasonally grown local produce and many of these are open seven days per week. In the summer season many fruits and some vegetables are available as ‘Pick your own’
